WONG MUN WUI王敏慧
Dr. Wong Mun Wui, received her PhD in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Jinan University, and a Master of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies(GDUFS). She was born and grew up in a multiracial and multicultural society in Malaysia. She has more than 10 years of teaching experience, specialized in language teaching. Her research area includes Linguistics, Minority Language Education and Social Science research. She published her research papers in the international journals and she is currently an editorial board member in the Journal of International Education Studies and Sustainability ISSN 2766-4554 (Print). She has been invited to be a regular article reviewer for journals specialized on teaching and education.
Dr. Wong Mun Wui practices ‘All-English Immersion Classroom’ and she encourages students to learn in an all-English environment. She conducts Oral English courses for English major and Teaching Chinese as a Second Language major students. She priotizes her students learning needs and guides them to overcome their learning problems.
Due to her outstanding research performance in Guangzhou Nanfang College, she was awarded Outstanding Young Researcher in 2016 by the school academic committee (2016年优秀中青年业务骨干教师) . With the teaching evaluation survey from more than 100 students in the college, she was awarded Top Lecturer in 2017 (2017年优秀教师,先进个人称号). She supervised students in participating and preparing the nation-wide 5th Internet Plus College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in 2019 (第五届中国互联网+大学生创新创业大赛), the team won the Third prize in the preliminary round, college level.
She is a regular guest speaker in English Corner organized by students and has given school lectures with the topics as follows:
1. The Making of Multilingual Society: Malaysian Context (in-house lectures with more than 200 participants)
2. The Difficulties and Challenges in Mother Tongue Education of Malaysian Indigenous People (online with more than 250 audiences)
