Autobiographical Statement
(Kemo Badiane)
Dr. Kemo Badiane (Didi) is an Assistant Professor in The School of Foreign Languages of Nanfang College – Guangzhou. Kemo Badiane’s initial training was in English at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Senegal. He then earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Providence University, Taiwan and a Ph.D. in Business Management from Feng Chia University’s School of Business, Taiwan.
Kemo Badiane has been teaching at Nanfang College – Guangzhou for nearly six years. Courses taught by Kemo Badiane by semester include International Business, Business French, Oral English, Intercultural Communication, Business French Writing, Intercultural Communication, and English Society & Culture. Moreover, International Business, Strategic Management, Competitive Strategies in Global Markets, Foresight Capabilities and Organizational Change, Behavior in Organizations, Intercultural Communication, International Strategic Marketing, World Trade Organization (WTO), Business Research, Aesthetic Judgment on Brand Identification, Relationship Marketing, and Cross-Strait Research are academic disciplines which represent his current research interests.
Kemo Badiane has authored more than twenty articles. He has won many scholarly awards and honors including Senegalese Government Scholarship, Taiwan Scholarship for Mandarin Chinese Studies, Providence University International Degree-Seeking Student Scholarship, Feng Chia University Postgraduate Studies & Research Scholarship, Certificate of Excellence in Reviewing Awarded by the Journal of Scientific Research and Reports (JSRR), and Honorary Award of the Dean of The School of Foreign Languages. Kemo Badiane is also an editorial board member of the Journal of Business Theory and Practice (JBTP), International Journal of Human Resource Studies (IJHRS), and Global Journal of Research in Business Management (GJRBM).
His teaching philosophy is based on the principle that education is of paramount importance to build a prosperous and successful career. He decided to be a teacher to make a positive impact on the life of his students. Throughout his career in education, he has strived to maintain strong connections with his students. He believes that the perfect relationship between students and teacher is one built on open, honest communication, and mutual understanding.
